Tattoos, piercings, clothes you may never wear, the list goes on and on. What if I were to tell you however, that there is a cheap and easy way to be on trend with only slight commitment?
Incase you haven't guessed from the title, I'm talking about undercuts, my prediction of what is to be the next movement to take the fashion world by storm.
Originally located at the side of your head, undercuts have made a move from their initial, edgy 1990-2000's location to a more modern and funky back do.
I first cut mine back in September 2017 and can honestly say I have no regrets since. I spent months beforehand going over and back between will I or won't I, worried mainly about what people would think but also the amount of hair I would lose. Luckily it turned out to be very little, I hardly notice the difference. I am blessed to have thick hair though so do keep that in mind before you decide to commit. As regards what people think, I've gotten nothing but positive comments and compliments.
What I love most about having an undercut is my ability to express myself through how it is cut. Each time I go to get it redone, I ask the barber for a different pattern or design. I usually do research in advance but sometimes, depending on my mood I let the barber freestyle whatever they like into it. You'd be surprised by the results.
Here are just a few examples of what I've had so far.
The undercut is a fun way to play around with your look without the expense or fear of permanent damage. My hair grows quickly so I get mine done every three to four weeks depending on how tight I go with the cut. With summer just around the corner, why not experiment, it will grow back after all.
You heard it here first, undercuts are the new high pony.
Stay Gorgeous,
